This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

BIOGRAPHY:

Joyce Collins Searle was a pianist and singer born in Battle Mountain, Nevada, on March 5th, 1930. She studied piano and arrangements at the College of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She was also a music educator, teaching many musicians along the years.

In 1955, she played with Oscar Pettiford, and in 1960, with Bob Cooper. She also had her own combos (duos and trios).

Joyce also worked in TV, staying 10 years in the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

She sadly died on January 3rd, 2010 in North Hollywood, California, due to pulmonary fibrosis. She was 79.
