This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

Superb lead guitarist, I first saw him when he played in Spain with Joe Cocker in 1989, and was amazed by his solos. Later, it has not been easy to trace his career, but I´ve done my best.

  1. thank you for this excellent work about Phil Grande and Joe Cocker band
I'm a french musician, old fan of our regretted Joe, I saw this team during a concert in Toulouse by 1991 or 1992.
I was crucified by this brilliant guitarist, the sound of its equipment and the incredible feeling in its interventions...
Thanks to you to speak about him...

    1. Hi, JeanMi. Thanks for writing this. I absolutely agree about Phil Grande, he's awesome. I'll post a few photos of Phil Grande in the next days as I'm compiling to include more photos and scans of Joe Cocker, also with Phil.

  2. Hello. I glad to say that I can call him my friend. When I was in New York, I was living with one of my friends, who is a great bass player. One of the greatest bass players in AMERICA actually. He's playing with Phil now. I play the blues on the guitar, so that was great to meet him. He called me "My lil brother in blues" and it's a pleasure for me. We jammed a lot, and he really showed me a lot of great stuff. Phil has got his solo album, it's called Some Kinda Hurricane. The guys from Stevie Ray's Double Trouble played on that album. Phil was a great friend for Stevie, and in the end of eighties Joe Cocker band and SRV AND DT had a tour together. Stevie was closing I believe. And there's the video on YT where they are jamming together. Playing a solo together. They played Watching The Riverflow with Stevie and Double Trouble as the end of JC 's set and the beginning of Stevie's . There's some videos on YouTube of the new band of Phil playing. You can find all that stuff on his Facebook page. Phil Grande.
