This is intended to be a homage to very many musicians I've loved since I started listening to music. My intention is to tell what I know about them, hoping that those people who like them too, will help me fill numerous gaps, which I may have in their careers and discographies. Sorry, but there are no MP3 audio files here at all, just info (and love for the musicians).

WARHORSE

Warhorse was formed (with the original working name of Iron Horse) in 1970 from the ashes of Marsha Hunt Band, with a promising young keyboardist, none other than Rick Wakeman:

Rick and Ged used to do all the arrangements. But Rick Wakeman left soon, in March 1970, as he got an offer from The Strawbs.

Frank Wilson is the new keyboardist in Warhorse:

WARHORSE #2

Mac Poole

Their first album was Warhorse, released in November 1970. But things weren´t going well inside the band, and finally, Ged left them in mid 1971.

Peter Parks replaces Ged Peck in Warhorse:

Gongê

Their 2nd album was called Red sea, released in 1972. Both albums have been reissued in the late 90s, with extra material.

The band split when they were making the initial recordings for a third album (although Mac Poole had already left, being replaced by Barney James - I´m not sure who plays in those recordings). All those songs are features as bonus in the CD reissue of Red sea.

HUNGRY HEART

Around 1973, Hungry Heart is formed with famous players:

HUNGRY HEART #1
1973
Dave Walker
vocals
Danny Kirwan
guitar
Andy Silvester
bass
Paul Raymond
keyboards
Mac Poole
drums

But they sadly split after just one gig.

I have a confusion here. Some sources state Hungry Heart as the band name. But Dave Walker, in an interview, said the band was Hungry Fighter, formed in 1974, and it only lasted for 1 gig with the mentioned musicians. But, as far as I know, the band also had Dave Bidwell on drums in 1974, and also Tom Farnell on drums. Can someone help me with info, please?

Other info on members of Hungry Heart (I know up to 5 members)
To be covered (4): Danny Kirwan, Paul Raymond, Andy Silvester, Dave Walker

MAGILL

But it was a short-lived band, as Huw soon moved to different projects.

They released a self-titled album, Broken Glass, with help from Miller Anderson (who also guested on some gigs), and produced by Tony Ashton. But in 1977, Stan Webb resurrected Chicken Shack (again with Blunt), so Broken Glass split.

NIGHTLIFE

Nightlife was a band formed by Jim Roche and Ian Ellis at the end of the 70s:

They released the album Future times in 1980, but the band didn´t go ahead apart from recording that album. Many years later, it was reissued as a 2CD set with a previous album Slipstreaming (where Mac didn't play).

JACK GREEN BAND

This was the Jack Green Band, probably around 1980:

TONY DANGERFIELD BAND

This was the fantastic lineup for the Dangerfield / Greenie Big Band, but I haven´t been able to trace the period where they played together (my guess is late 70s or maybe early 80s - help please!!):

AND THEN...

And then, I have a gap in Mac Poole´s activities from 1980 to 1987. If someone can provide info, it would be very appreciated.

PLAYER / ORKESTRA

In March 1987, two former members of ELO, Kelly Groucutt and Mik Kaminski, form a new band, Orkestra (originally they were called Player), and Mac joins them, as they were old friends:

But Mac left Orkestra in January 1988 after a tour (being replaced by Simon Fox).

Sadly, the great Mick Wayne died in June 1994, in Michigan, in a house fire, so I guess the band split.

Don´t know if Mac Poole played in other lineups of the band. Can someone help me here, please?

Other info on members of Solid Gold (I know up to 6 members)
To be covered (4): Jeff Bannister, Dave Glover, Paul Green, Andy Hamilton
Not enough info (1): Alan Lovell

ROCKIN´ HORSE

In 1996, Mac forms Rockin' Horse, a quartet playing inside a rock and roll show called ´Oh Boy! It´s only rock´n´roll´. They were also the houseband for the whole show. But I don't know the other members in the lineup. Help, please! Is the same band featuring Billy Kinsley?

WARHORSE (again)

20 years later after their separation, Warhorse plays one more gig in March 2005, as a special celebration for Mac Poole´s 60th birthday:

As far as I know, this is the latest incarnation of 60s band The Honeycombs:
